kaleidoscope of memories
Unicorn by day. Crazy Mofo by night.

Is anyone else just, like, really excited at the prospect that they might live to be 100 or close to it? Like, that means that by the time we finish up here we will have seen a century of progress. Think of the people today that are 100 years old. They’ve seen the roaring twenties, the great recession, the worst war in history, the civil rights movement, the first man on the moon, the cold war, the rise of the age of information. They were alive when computers were invented, and watched them go from relatively useless monsters of machinery that took up entire rooms to god damn watches. They watched cell phones become a thing! . They saw women go from fighting for the right to vote to leading the Democratic primaries. They watched the country go from denying a black man the right to sit at a counter to swearing one into office.

I mean, a lot of terrible things have happened too, in their lives, but the progress we have made is undeniable. I’ve only been alive 18 years and I’ve already seen extraordinary leaps in technology and social justice. Imagine what it’ll be like in 80 years!

I don’t know, man, it’s just exciting to me.
